Lenovo A688T: Super-Cheap Quad-Core Phone With LTE

Following what other manufacturers are already trying to do, Lenovo has now released a new low-cost phone in China which is featuring LTE. We are talking about the Lenovo A688T, which is another 5-incher made by the Chinese tech giant. It comes with Mediatek’s MT6582 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz which is extended with the MT6290 for LTE support. The phone is offered for just around 114 bucks in China.

Can’t be anything good you say? Well, the specs tell otherwise. The Lenovo A688T comes with a 5-inch 720p screen, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, a 2,000mAh battery, Android 4.4 KitKat and 8 / 2 mega pixel cameras. Quite amazing for the price, huh?

But well, of course there is a downside: International customers won’t be happy with this phone as it does only support TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE, for now! With some luck we might see a FDD-LTE / WCDMA version of this handset.
