While main stream brands don’t seem to be able to achieve any success with gaming smart phones, Chinese manufacturers seem to do. Or how would you explain all these mash-ups of phones and gaming consoles hitting the Chinese market on a regular basis. Well, there are two more devices trying their luck now, called the 78point P01 and Much W1.
Both devices are basically handsets but with added hardware gaming controls. A dream for everyone who hates playing games on a touch screen. The whole thing is looking a bit like a mix of a PSP / PSV and phone. Hardware specs are nothing breathtaking however: 5-inch 720p screen, 2GB RAM, MT6592 SoC and one 8 mega pixel camera.
All this is priced at 240€, which is hell of a lot considering the specs. They could’ve well built a Snapdragon SoC inside of there for the real gaming fun to happen. Unfortunately they seem to have spent the money on weight: 214g are definitely quite heavy for a portable device!
Regarding availability: The Much W1 is available now, the 78point P01 will follow on August 20th. Whats your take on such devices?
