Aiming to improve the Sonos experience, the company has put out Sonos Trueplay, a software system that fires out a tone and uses it to gauge the optimal sound output from the Sonos speaker.
The (currently iOS only) speaker calibration software uses the mic in an iPhone or iPad to register a tone and uses that information to set the speaker up for the room.
According to Marc Whitten, Sonos Chief Product Officer: “Trueplay is a major step in Sonos’s mission to bring music fans a great experience at home without compromises.”
As this first incarnation is iOS only, we’re expecting an Android edition to roll out with future updates, along with support for Playbar.
