Google launches official store!
You may have missed the news while we were telling you about the glorious Chromebook Pixel, so we thought we would circle back and give this story its own little section. Google has just announced and launched a new online store front to sell its devices!
This means products made in partnership with Google (or by Google) will no longer be sold under the Play Store. These will now be found under the Google Store, where you can find phones, tablets, Chromebooks, Android Wear devices, Nest products and more.
By the way, the “Devices” section is still in the Google Play Store, so no one will be getting lost. The button just happens to re-direct you to the new store.
Opinion: While it was nice having the Devices section in the Google Play Store, we can’t deny Google did need its own storefront. After all, their collection is getting large and this move really helps the company’s presence and identity.
