The Teclast X2 Pro is a premium Windows 10 tablet or Ultrabook and perfect for the business minded or those who wants performance on a thin and light package. The tablet is powered by the latest Intel Core M 5Y10c Dual Core processor which is Ultra quiet, efficient and offers great value for the price.
A beastly tablet or laptop
The X2 Pro packs an ample 4 GB RAM and 64 GB Storage, and also supports expandable storage via MicroSD support and NGFF storage up to 128 GB SSD (but this option is not included on the package). The tablet also comes with 2 USB Type A (USB 3.0) slots with native support for USB Host OTG. Furthermore, the tablet also supports 4K video output via the Mini HDMI port.
Gaming is decent but it does heats up easily
The ultra quiet design has one obvious flaw, the passive cooled processor heats up easily and is subject to thermal throttling at high loads. The same situation is true with the Macbook 2015 (same processor). The processor wasn’t meant to be a solely gaming processor anyway. In terms of gaming, performance is decent on some games but on highly 3D intensive games, the performance struggles. However, Mainstream games like Dota 2, TF2, COD, Starcraft 2 works great with a few hiccups and lags. Notice that you have to lower the resolution and the details to get playable frame rates. The Intel HD 5300 is powerful enough for discreet gaming.
Active Stylus Support and USB 3.0
The tablet supports active stylus (handwriting recognition) and thus is perfect for designers who can take advantage of this feature. The USB 3.0 (USB Host OTG) support makes ultra fast transfer of files.
Keyboard Magnetic Docks and NGFF Storage Support
Expandable storage supports are supported as well as the luxury for using the Keyboard Magnetic Docks, turning it into a laptop in seconds. Although these features or addons are not included natively on the package.
A huge battery complements powerful hardware underneath
The tablet packs a whopping 45000mWh (120000mAh rated) battery. The battery is listed to lasts up to 8 hours of typical usage but this number depends entirely on the usage preference of the users. Gaming will drain the battery quick, but moderate to light usage, such as spreadsheets, the device will last a while.
A clearly must have Tablet or Ultrabook
Overall, let’s face it, the Teclast X2 Pro isn’t for everybody. For starters, it is pricy compared to other lower end tablets, but you do have performance gain. If you are a frequent traveler, on business or work, then the Teclast X2 Pro i think is a great choice, it offers great performance and runs Windows 10 applications without a hitch, discreet gaming is also possible and the support for Active Stylus makes it a perfect tool for designers.
