One of the issues Chinese phones normally have is the lack of LTE support for North America and Latin America. Elephone hope to overcome this with the new Elephone P8000 version B.
The Elephone P8000 Version B looks just like your standard Elephone P8000, so you have the large 5.5-inch display up front, and a fingerprint scanner on the rear, but under the hood a few changes have been made to add additional LTE support for North America and Latin America.
Elephone have unlocked LTE bands 2,4,7,17,38 on the Mediatek MT6753 chipset which should allow the phone to work on more networks around the world. It’s not been announced if any hardware changes have been made to the phone to acheive this or if it is a simple software optimisation.
Other than the added LTE support the rest of the hardware remains unchanged so 3GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, and a large battery. You can read our review of the standard Elephone P8000 here.
We will bring you news of the Elephone P800 Version B launch and pricing once it is made public.
