The Lite variation of the Archos 101 Xenon tablet has been announced.
The Archos 101 Xenon Lite does away with the original model’s aluminum shell and replaces it with a lightweight polycarbonate body to earn the model its name.
The Xenon Lite runs on a MediaTek MT8382 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, which is a slight improvement on the former model’s 1.2GHz MT8389 chip.
It has a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 pixel IPS display and it packs in a 4000mAh battery – one to watch when using the dualSIM 3G connectivity option – especially as the original Xenon 101 packed a 6,000mAh unit.
The cameras aren’t too exciting – the rear cam’s 2MP and the front-facer is just 0.3MP, but with the portability (it weighs 550g) and 3G, this could work fine as an on the go runaround tablet.
It’s currently out in Italy for 159 euros (US$175).
