It was reported Microsoft confirmed that the original Windows 10 supports a higher resolution, as well as DPI rates scaling will be perfectly served. Specifically, Windows 10 supports 4K and 8K resolution.
In Microsoft's slideshow, 8K resolution requires a 27 inches screen while 4K requires a 8 inches screen or a larger one. As for the smaller devices such as cellphone and tablet, a 6 inches screen should be provided to arrive at 4K resolution and 8K is not available on the devices.
Microsoft mentioned, Windows 10 provides HEVC, which also named H.265. It's the standard of United Telecom. A pity is that V9, another video decoder are not mentioned in the sllideshow.
What's more, Microsoft shared their new digital management platform named PlayReady 3.0. It protects the rights of most of the videos and streaming media and declared that the standard is based on the hardware. At the same time it protect the contents in tablets, smartphones and Personal computer.
Windows 10 keep a promise that Microsoft system would be a strong platform of games and multi-media and encourage the development of the hardware firms. Nvidia and AMD confirm to support 4K and 8K resolutions too.
At the same time, televisions' manufacturers have mentioned SuperMHL and Embedded DisplayPort 1.4a. They will effectively support 8K. Transmittion belt with the standard eDP1.4a will achieve 8.1Gbps' speed. 8K have a big chance to support PC or mobile devices.
VESA indicated we will have a chance to see Display port standard when it's 2016. But just don't expect for 8K PC. 8K will be planted into television first than the smaller devices.
