Oppo has announced its budget-friendly LTE device for the Malaysian market, dubbed the Oppo Neo 5. It’s set to launch in the region next week for RM598 (almost $189). The device comes with a very budget-friendly price tag, and a similar set of specifications as its predecessor.
There’s a 4.5-inch display sporting a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels with a 218ppi pixel density, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB of RAM. On the storage side, it features 4GB of space with a microSD card support of up to 32GB for expansion. Other features include 5MP camera on the back for photos and videos as well as a 2MP front-facing camera, a 1,900 mAh battery, and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as its operating system with Color OS on top of it.
The page doesn’t mention the exact availability date, but it’s expected to launch as early as next week in Malaysia. Oppo has expanded its operations in other emerging markets as well, so we may see the handset land in other markets in the coming weeks too.
